Aashay Nagura Concludes Encouraging Maiden OK-Junior Season
Eastern Cape racer Aashay Nagura has wrapped up his maiden campaign in the national OK-Junior class, a season in which he impressed.
Aashay began his year in the Mini ROK category at the Red Star Raceway season opener, where he showed fighting spirit with a top-six overall finish. By Round 2 at Killarney, he boldly stepped up to the quicker and more physical OK-Junior machinery. The transition was seamless, where he stunned on debut with a podium finish in Cape Town, including a brilliant drive to third in Heat 2 and consistent top-four results across the heats.
Round 3 at Celso Scribante in Gqeberha proved another breakthrough weekend. After qualifying strongly, Aashay delivered his best national result of the year, an excellent runner-up position in Heat 2, which highlighted both his pace and racecraft. With further top-four heat results, he was classified third overall on home soil.
The final round at Red Star Raceway, however, was more challenging, with the Kokoro Academy driver missing the podium. Finishing inside the top seven against a highly competitive field, however, underlined the promise he has shown in just a partial season.
Reflecting on the season, Aashay can take pride in his adaptability, podium finishes, and steady growth in one of the most demanding junior karting classes. With backing from Bronscor Group, Sparco South Africa, INGCO South Africa, and Score Immune Booster, he has laid a strong foundation for 2026, where he will no doubt aim to mount a full-season assault in OK-Junior.
