Alonzo Takes Vereeniging Momentum to Zwartkops

OMP/Motorsport Fanatix™ brand ambassador Alonzo De Oliveira returns to Zwartkops Kart Raceway on Saturday, 3 October, for the fifth round of the Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championship. The Stretto Racing driver will be looking for another strong Micro MAX result after missing out on the overall win at Vereeniging by just one point.

Alonzo won the opening heat at the fourth round on 19 September, then finished second in each of the remaining two races. That gave him second overall and a clear target for the trip back to Pretoria.

Zwartkops has been a good circuit for Alonzo. He opened this year’s regional campaign there with two heat wins and the overall Micro MAX victory. It was also where he sealed the 2025 National and Northern Regions Bambino titles before stepping up a class this season.

The kart circuit’s flyover and changes in elevation make it a demanding place to race. Alonzo has already shown he can win there in Micro MAX; the challenge next weekend is to put together three strong heats and turn that pace into another overall result.

Round 5 is the penultimate meeting of the regional season, with the final round also scheduled for Zwartkops on 31 October.

Practice starts on Friday with Qualifying and three race heats closing out Saturday.
