Cornofsky Secures R25K Mini ROK Prize with Standout Double-Header National Performance

Kayde Cornofsky delivered a composed and high-impact performance at the opening double-header of the National ROK Cup Kart Championship at Red Star Raceway, converting pace into silverware, and prize money, across a demanding weekend.

The former National Kid ROK Champion and 2025 Mini ROK Vice Champion underlined his credentials in the fiercely competitive Mini ROK field, navigating both pressure and changing conditions with maturity beyond his years.

Saturday’s opening round saw Kayde execute a near-flawless race strategy. Demonstrating sharp racecraft and control, he positioned himself at the front of the pack and capitalised when it mattered most, securing a decisive victory in Round 1. It was a performance that immediately placed him at the centre of the weekend’s narrative and firmly in contention for the lucrative R25 000 prize on offer.

With the format demanding consistency across both rounds, Sunday presented a fresh challenge. Track conditions remained tricky, with variable grip levels and weather changes requiring adaptability and precision. Kayde once again delivered, bringing his kart home in third place overall in Round 2, an effort that proved crucial in the overall points tally.

That consistency across the two rounds ultimately secured him the R25 000 prize, a substantial achievement that highlights his potential and dedication, edging out his closest rivals in what was one of the most competitive Mini ROK showdowns in recent memory. It was a reward not only for outright speed, but for calculated execution across the weekend.

Speaking after the event, Kayde reflected on a weekend that required both aggression and composure:

“It was a tough weekend with really strong competition, but the team gave me a great kart and we stayed focused throughout. Winning on Saturday was important, but Sunday was about bringing it home and scoring enough points. I’m really happy to take the overall and the prize.”

The result marks a significant statement early in the national campaign, reinforcing Kayde’s status as a serious title contender in 2026 and suggesting promising future opportunities in international or higher-tier racing circuits.

Kayde extends his sincere thanks to his sponsors: Allegiance Properties, Canario Cornofsky Attorneys, Calisto’s Portuguese Restaurant, Smith Garage, the 357, Glads and AMW, as well as his dedicated team for their continued support and commitment. Their backing remains instrumental in his continued rise through the national karting ranks.
