De Wet Eyes Repeat Vereeniging Success

Luhan de Wet returns to GT Raceway in Vereeniging this weekend for Round 4 of the Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championships, determined to strengthen his Mini MAX title challenge. The TGR Junior Academy driver and OMP/Motorsport Fanatix™ ambassador enters the round tied on 192 points at the top of the adjusted standings, although he is currently ranked second on the tie-break.

Luhan will take confidence from his previous appearance at the circuit in August. He finished third and second in the opening two heats before winning the final heat to secure the overall Mini MAX honours on countback.

The Centurion youngster has continued to develop during his rookie Mini MAX campaign. He recently finished third overall in the national South African Rotax MAX Challenge season, adding another national podium to a year highlighted by his Mini MAX Africa Open victory and qualification for the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals in Portugal.

With the regional championship finely balanced, another strong points haul in Vereeniging could prove crucial. Luhan will focus on qualifying near the front, staying consistent through all three heats, and challenging for another overall victory.
