Josh Moore Secures Top-Eight Finish At Aldo Scribante
Josh Moore completed a busy two weeks at Aldo Scribante Racetrack with a consistent performance in Round 5 of the Astron Energy Polo Cup, securing eighth overall on Saturday.
The Worx Motorsport SA driver arrived with valuable track time and added confidence after winning both VW Challenge Class A races during the Regional Extreme Festival’s away round at the same circuit a week earlier.
Returning to the closely contested national championship presented a different challenge, but Josh delivered two clean finishes and completed all 20 racing laps.
The Eastern Cape rookie opened his account with seventh place in Race 1. The battle around him remained extremely close, with seventh through ninth separated by just over half a second when the chequered flag fell. Josh followed that result with eighth in the second 10-lap encounter.
His seventh- and eighth-place finishes combined to give him eighth overall for the day, adding another dependable result to his first season in the Astron Energy Polo Cup.
While the national results did not quite match the two victories earned the previous weekend, the back-to-back events gave Josh further experience around the demanding Gqeberha circuit. More importantly, he again demonstrated his ability to compete consistently in a tightly matched field and bring the car home in both races.
The weekend represents another positive step in Josh’s rookie campaign as he continues to build his confidence and develop with every outing.
“It was good to have two weekends in a row at Aldo because every lap helped me understand the car a little better,” said Moore. “The Polo Cup field is very competitive, so I’m pleased that we completed both races and earned another top-eight result. There is still plenty for me to work on, but I can feel that we are making progress. Thank you to the Worx Motorsport SA team and everyone who continues to support me. I’m looking forward to building on this at the next round.”
The penultimate round returns to Cape Town next month, 18-19 September.
