Max Boshoff Set for Home ROK Finale

Max Boshoff returns to familiar territory next week as the 2026 ROK Cup South Africa National Championship reaches its conclusion at Killarney International Raceway in Cape Town.

The Spring Nats will decide Rounds 7 and 8 of this year's championship, bringing an eight-round campaign to a close after previous double-header weekends at Red Star Raceway, GT Raceway and Formula-K Raceway.

For Boshoff, the finale represents the culmination of an impressive rookie campaign in OK-Junior. The reigning 2025 Mini ROK national champion stepped into the more demanding category at the beginning of the season and has steadily established himself among the class's leading contenders.

His progress was particularly evident during July's Formula-K double-header, where the Kokoro Racing Academy driver delivered back-to-back overall podium finishes across Rounds 5 and 6. Across the weekend, Boshoff recorded six top-five finishes, four heat podiums and two front-row qualifying performances.

That consistency has left the Cape Town youngster firmly in the fight near the front of the national standings, with a chance to finish in the top three.

Killarney also offers Boshoff the advantage of racing on familiar ground. While his recent home-track success has come in Junior MAX rather than OK-Junior, he produced a clean sweep of three Junior MAX races at the circuit during the Western Province regional meeting in August, providing further evidence of his current confidence around the Cape Town venue.

With six national heats remaining across the final double-header, the objective will be to convert the pace and consistency shown throughout his first OK-Junior season into another strong national result.

The finale carries additional significance for the category, with the championship winner earning an FIA Junior Academy opportunity, a ROK Cup Superfinal ticket, and an FIA OK-N Junior World Cup pathway, while the weekend winner is also eligible for MSA4 or Ginetta testing.
