Alonzo de Oliveira Strikes Back with Dominant Hat-Trick at Formula-K

Newly crowned South African Bambino National Champion Alonzo de Oliveira returned to Formula-K Raceway on Saturday with unfinished business. Earlier this season, the Stretto Racing driver went winless at the Benoni circuit. This time, however, he delivered a statement performance, claiming a hat-trick of victories to extend his lead in the Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championship with just one round remaining.

Qualifying third fastest, Alonzo quickly made his intentions clear in Heat 1, seizing the lead on the opening lap and never looking back. He followed up with commanding drives in Heat 2 and Heat 3, each time resisting pressure from close rivals to secure maximum points. His clean sweep ensured the Motorsport Fanatix™ brand ambassador walked away with the overall victory, reaffirming his reputation as the driver to beat in the Bambino field.

“Formula-K wasn’t kind to me earlier this year, so I’m really proud of how we came back today,” said Alonzo. “The kart was quick from the start, and the team gave me everything I needed to fight at the front. Winning all three heats here feels very special.”

The result sees Alonzo move into a commanding position in the regional championship standings, giving him a firm cushion heading into the season finale. Should Alonzo win the regional championship, he will become the first Bambino driver in history to win a regional, national, and African Open titles in the same season.

Alonzo extends his heartfelt thanks to his loyal partners whose support fuels his racing success: Ceelin Plus, Y2K Germiston, MSLB Projects, Amigos Portugueses, Freddy Hirsch, S.Y. Wholesale Butchery, Hercules Foods, and HPP.
