Corsa dei Gemelli concludes debut MSA4 season with pride and progress

Corsa dei Gemelli wrapped up their debut Investchem MSA4 Championship campaign at Zwartkops Raceway on Saturday, closing the curtain on what has been a season of immense progress, character, and resilience.

Championship contender Mikel Bezuidenhout arrived at Zwartkops firmly in the title hunt and immediately underlined his intent with another strong performance in qualifying, placing third on the grid ahead of his championship rival KC Ensor-Smith, but marginally behind front-row starters Adriaan Nel and Kent Swartz.

Race 1 saw Mikel deliver a determined drive to claim second place, and inch a little closer to his championship rival. He followed this up with another composed effort in Race 2, finishing third after a fierce scrap inside the top five, a result that kept his championship dream alive heading into the decisive final race.

However, heartbreak struck in Race 3. After starting from sixth on the reverse grid, Mikel’s title challenge came undone when a brake issue forced him to pit after five laps. The mechanical setback ended his hopes of clinching the inaugural MSA4 crown. His pace and perseverance throughout the season left little doubt of his status as one of the series’ standout performers.

Teammate Kian Spies endured another frustrating weekend as mechanical gremlins once again limited his running. Despite a promising start to qualifying, where he lined up 12th, a string of reliability issues hampered his progress across all three races. Spies nevertheless soldiered on, finishing 10th in Race 1, 11th in Race 2, and 9th in the finale, demonstrating his resolve to see out the season despite the setbacks.

Corsa dei Gemelli’s inaugural Investchem MSA4 season concludes with immense pride. From early-season teething troubles to consistent podium contention, the team has shown the professionalism, teamwork, and race-craft that define a championship-calibre outfit.

“It’s been an incredible year of learning and growing,” commented team principal Jean Bezuidenhout. “Mikel pushed right to the final race and showed the potential we’ve always believed in, while Kian’s perseverance through a tough season reflects the spirit of this team. We’ll regroup, refine, and come back stronger in 2026.”

The team now turns its focus to the off-season, where preparations for next year’s campaign are already underway.
