De Wet Set to Wrap Up Regional Season Before Bahrain Adventure
Louis Leipoldt Primary's Luhan de Wet will bring his 2025 Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championship campaign to a close at Zwartkops Raceway on 18 October.
Having secured the national Micro MAX title earlier this year, the Motorsport Fanatix™ ambassador made his Mini MAX debut at the previous regional round, prioritising valuable experience in the higher class over pursuing the regional Micro MAX crown, for which he remains in contention. His decision reflects a forward-thinking approach as he prepares for a full Mini MAX season in 2026.
This final outing at Zwartkops will also serve as a vital warm-up for the Xtreme Racing Team driver, who will represent South Africa at the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals in Bahrain next month, the most prestigious event on the international Rotax calendar. As the nation's sole Micro MAX entry, he will carry the South African flag with pride on the global stage.
With an exceptional season already under his belt, Luhan aims to end his regional campaign on a high and build momentum heading into his international debut.
The action is scheduled to kick off on Saturday morning with a warm-up, qualifying session, and three race heats.
