Josh Moore Ready for Aldo Polo Cup Fightback
Josh Moore heads to the Eastern Cape this weekend looking to turn promise into results as the Astron Energy Polo Cup Championship makes its first visit of the season to the Eastern Cape, starting with the Aldo Scribante Racetrack, Gqeberha.
The Worx Motorsport SA driver has had a frustrating start to his 2026 campaign, with flashes of pace not always reflected in the results. At Red Star Raceway, Moore showed encouraging speed and progressed into SuperPole, but his Zwartkops weekend proved far more challenging. An electronic issue hurt his qualifying, leaving him 16th on the grid, before he fought back to 10th in Race 1. Race 2 was later affected by a post-race penalty, while Race 3 brought another tough finish.
Even so, Moore remains focused on the bigger picture. After three rounds, he sits 12th in the National Polo Cup standings on 42 points, and Aldo Scribante, a circuit he knows well, offers an important chance to regain momentum and close the gap to the drivers ahead.
The Gqeberha circuit is one of the tougher venues on the calendar, mixing fast, committed sections with technical corners that demand accuracy and confidence. In a field as competitive as Polo Cup, qualifying well and staying out of trouble in the opening laps will be crucial.
For Moore, the target is simple: put together a clean weekend, convert his pace into points, and leave the Eastern Cape with renewed momentum.
“The first part of the season has definitely tested us, but we know the pace is there,” said Moore. “Aldo is a circuit where you have to be sharp from the first session. The focus is on putting a clean weekend together, maximising qualifying, and giving ourselves the best chance to move forward in the races.”
The action gets underway on Friday with practice and qualifying before two races conclude the halfway mark in the championship.
