Christopher Tait Looks to Turn Zwartkops Momentum into Aldo Result

Christopher Tait heads to Aldo Scribante Racetrack this weekend for Round 4 of the Astron Energy Polo Cup Championship, looking to keep building on what has been a steady and encouraging rookie season.

The Volkswagen Motorsport driver arrives in Gqeberha eighth in the championship standings on 67 points, placing him right in the middle of a fiercely competitive field.

It has been a season of learning for Tait so far. After a tough opening round at Killarney and gearbox troubles at Red Star Raceway, he found better rhythm at Zwartkops, where he delivered a composed weekend and came away with three seventh-place finishes.

That result gave the 2025 Volkswagen Rookie Cup champion something solid to build on as the championship now heads to one of the more technical circuits on the calendar.

Aldo Scribante is not an easy place to get right. The Gqeberha circuit is fast in places, narrow in others, and rewards drivers who are precise, committed and confident. For Tait, it will be another important step in his Polo Cup development as he continues to adapt to the intensity of national cup competition.

The aim this weekend will be to qualify well, stay out of trouble and turn his improving pace into another strong points haul.

“I’m really looking forward to Aldo,” said Tait. “We made good progress at Zwartkops, and now the goal is to keep that momentum going. Polo Cup is incredibly close, so every session counts. I want to keep learning, keep improving and hopefully come away with another strong weekend.”

Tait will be on circuit on Friday for three practice sessions ahead of a late-afternoon qualifying, followed by two races on Saturday that conclude his weekend. Catch the action live on www.extremefestival.co.za/live
