Top Six for Josh Moore in Volkswagen’s Anniversary Aldo Scribante Weekend
Josh Moore put in another gritty performance at Round 4 of the Astron Energy Polo Cup at Aldo Scribante Racetrack, on a weekend that also marked Volkswagen South Africa’s 75th anniversary celebrations.
Still finding his feet as a rookie in the 2026 season, the Worx Motorsport SA driver showed good pace from the start. Friday evening’s qualifying session gave him a solid platform for the weekend, with Moore narrowly missing out on the Superpole shootout for the top six.
Starting from seventh, Moore immediately found himself in the thick of the action. The Polo Cup field is never easy, and with several experienced drivers around him, he had to work hard for every position. But he held his own, kept the pressure on, and made sure those ahead of him could not get comfortable.
Race 1 saw Moore bring the car home in seventh place after a tough eight-lap fight. Around the fast and demanding Aldo Scribante layout, he stayed in touch with the leading group and continued to show the confidence and racecraft that had been building throughout his rookie campaign.
He carried that momentum into Race 2, where another determined drive earned him sixth place. It was a strong way to end the weekend and gave Moore two solid top-seven finishes against a competitive field.
Reflecting on the weekend, Moore said: “It was a really positive weekend for us. The pace is coming together and I’m learning more every time I’m out there. A big thank you to the Worx Motorsport SA team for all their hard work, and to all our sponsors for their continued support. It’s also special to be part of Volkswagen South Africa’s 75th anniversary celebrations — congratulations to them on such an incredible milestone.”
While a podium remained just out of reach, the weekend was another clear step forward for Moore. His pace, consistency and ability to race with the front group showed just how much progress he is making in his first season.
For the Worx Motorsport SA driver, Aldo Scribante delivered valuable points, more experience, and another sign that he is steadily closing the gap to the established Polo Cup front-runners.
