Josh Moore Returns to Familiar Zwartkops for Penultimate Polo Cup Round

Josh Moore will return to Zwartkops Raceway on 16–17 October for the penultimate round of the 2026 Astron Energy Polo Cup Championship, looking to finish his rookie national campaign on a positive note.

The Worx Motorsport SA driver heads to the Pretoria circuit for the second time this season, having previously competed there during May's third round. With experience of the demanding 2.4 km circuit from both the Volkswagen Rookie Cup and regional ATE VW Challenge, Moore will be hoping that his familiarity with Zwartkops works in his favour.

Originally scheduled to host the championship finale, Zwartkops will now serve as the penultimate round following changes to the national racing calendar. The cancellation of September's Killarney event has added a round at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, where the 2026 Astron Energy Polo Cup champion will be crowned.

The addition of Kyalami brings an interesting conclusion to the championship, with the historic Midrand venue having last hosted a Formula One Grand Prix in 1993, when Alain Prost claimed victory ahead of Ayrton Senna.

For Moore, however, the immediate focus remains on Zwartkops and making the most of the opportunity to improve his championship position.

The young Eastern Cape racer has faced the challenges of stepping into one of South Africa's most competitive single-make racing championships. While his maiden Polo Cup season has delivered its share of frustrations, it has also provided valuable experience against some of the country's established competitors.

Moore's familiarity with Zwartkops extends beyond his national Polo Cup appearances. He enjoyed success at the circuit during his 2025 Volkswagen Rookie Cup campaign, claiming a race victory, while his transition into regional Class A competition earlier this year also produced a convincing double victory.

Those results provide encouragement ahead of another demanding weekend at a circuit where qualifying position and a clean opening lap can make a considerable difference.

Speaking ahead of his previous visit to Zwartkops in May, Moore said he appreciates the circuit, describing it as one he knows and enjoys.

With just two championship rounds remaining, the objective is to put together a competitive weekend, challenge for stronger results and carry that momentum into the newly scheduled Kyalami finale.

For Moore and the Worx Motorsport SA team, another strong performance would be a welcome reward for the work invested throughout his rookie season.
