Keegan Campos Looks to Build on Strong Aldo Scribante Record
Keegan Campos heads to Aldo Scribante Racetrack next weekend with an important opportunity to strengthen his South African Touring Cars Championship campaign.
The Campos Transport BMW driver missed the opening round of the season in Cape Town, but made an immediate impact when he returned at Round 2 at Red Star Raceway. His first race of the year did not go to plan after an unfortunate incident at the start of Race 1, but Campos responded in the best possible way in the reverse-grid race. He led from the lights and went on to claim his first victory of the season.
He backed that up with another strong showing at Zwartkops, where he secured an impressive podium finish in Race 1 and continued to show the pace needed to fight at the front. Despite missing the opening round, Campos remains within reach of the top three and is currently 15 points behind the third-placed competitors in the championship.
The next stop on the calendar takes the series to the Eastern Cape for the first of two visits this season, and Aldo Scribante could prove to be a key weekend for Campos. The Gqeberha circuit was the scene of one of his strongest performances in 2025, where he narrowly missed out on a clean sweep after taking pole position, winning the opening race, finishing runner-up in Race 2, and setting the fastest lap in both races.
With that record behind him, Campos will be looking to make the most of a circuit where he has already shown serious speed. The Fast Development-prepared BMW has been competitive from the moment he joined the 2026 season, and a strong points haul next weekend could move him firmly back into the championship fight.
“Aldo Scribante is a circuit where we’ve had good pace before, so I’m looking forward to going back,” said Campos. “Missing the first round put us on the back foot, but Red Star and Zwartkops showed that we have the speed to fight at the front. The focus now is on putting together a clean weekend, maximising every session, and scoring as many points as possible.”
Track action gets underway next Friday with practice, followed by qualifying and two races on Saturday.
