Robinson Ready for Eastern Cape Challenge as Polo Cup Heads to Aldo Scribante

Berlin Robinson will return to Astron Energy Polo Cup action next weekend when the championship heads to the Eastern Cape for Round 4 of the 2026 season.

The fiercely contested one-make series forms part of the National Extreme Festival and will make its first of two visits to the province this year, with the Aldo Scribante Racetrack in Gqeberha hosting the next stop on the calendar.

Aldo Scribante holds a special place in South African motorsport and is widely regarded as the home of Volkswagen Motorsport. The circuit is known for its mix of fast, flowing sections and tighter, more technical corners, making it a venue that demands commitment, precision and strong racecraft.

For Berlin, the weekend represents another important opportunity to keep building in her rookie Polo Cup season. After graduating from the Volkswagen Rookie Cup in 2025, Berlin has stepped into one of the most competitive saloon car championships in the country and has quickly learned how tough the category can be.

Her first season has been a baptism of fire, but she has continued to gain valuable experience with every outing. With two top-10 finishes to date, Berlin will arrive in Gqeberha determined to take another step forward and put together a stronger weekend.

There is also a strong family connection to the category. Berlin follows in the footsteps of her sister, Tyler Robinson, who spent several seasons in Polo Cup before moving up to the SupaCup class of the South African Touring Cars. Like Tyler, Berlin continues to fly the flag for women in motorsport while building her own name on the national stage.

“I’m really looking forward to racing at Aldo Scribante,” said Robinson. “It’s a circuit with a lot of Volkswagen Motorsport history, so to compete there in Polo Cup is special. This season has been a big learning curve, but every round has helped me grow. The aim is to keep improving, stay focused from the first session, and hopefully come away with stronger results. Polo Cup racing is incredibly close, so I know I’ll need to be sharp all weekend.”

As the championship reaches its fourth round, Robinson will focus on applying the lessons learned in the opening part of the season and continuing her progression in one of South Africa’s toughest national categories.
