Corsa dei Gemelli Set for Eastern Cape Challenge as MSA4 Reaches Halfway Mark
Corsa dei Gemelli will head into Round 4 of the Investchem MSA4 Championship next week with plenty to race for, as South Africa’s premier single-seater series makes its first appearance in the Eastern Cape.
The championship moves to the Aldo Scribante Raceway in Gqeberha, a venue well known for its technical nature and unforgiving layout. Compact, fast in places, and demanding through its tighter sections, the circuit rewards precision and confidence. With limited margin for error, it is expected to place a premium on strong qualifying performances, clean starts and disciplined racecraft.
For Corsa dei Gemelli, the weekend will feature activity across both its Investchem MSA4 and Formula Ford Kent programmes. Mikel Bezuidenhout and Wianko Fourie will continue to represent the team in MSA4, while Khanya Mahanjana will be back in action for CDG in the Formula Ford Kent category. Mahanjana is part of the Corsa dei Gemelli team structure, but his campaign is tied to the Formula Ford Kent class, which only appears at selected rounds on the calendar. Aldo Scribante is one of those rounds, giving him another opportunity to compete in CDG colours next weekend.
Bezuidenhout arrives in the Eastern Cape firmly in the championship fight. After three rounds, and with the two lowest-scoring races dropped, he is tied for the lead of the championship. The competition at the front has been closely matched, with race victories in 2026 also shared evenly, three apiece. With the season now reaching its halfway point, every session will carry added importance.
“I’m really looking forward to Aldo Scribante,” said Bezuidenhout. “It’s a new challenge for us in MSA4, and with the championship as close as it is, we know we have to be sharp from the start. The wins have been shared so far, which shows how competitive the field is, but the team has worked hard and I feel ready. The aim is to build through practice, qualify well and put ourselves in a strong position for both races.”
Fourie, meanwhile, continues to make steady progress in his first season with the team. Although he has not yet opened his points account, with only the top eight finishers scoring, his improvement across the opening rounds has been clear. As his confidence grows, the team believes a breakthrough result is becoming increasingly likely.
“I’ve learned a lot with every round so far, and I can feel the progress,” said Fourie. “The results haven’t fully shown it yet, but the pace and confidence are improving. Aldo Scribante looks like a circuit where you need to be very accurate, so I want to make the most of practice, keep improving through the weekend and put myself in a position to fight for points.”
For Mahanjana, the Eastern Cape round brings the chance to return to competition with CDG in Formula Ford Kent machinery. With the class featuring only at selected events, every race weekend becomes an important opportunity to maximise track time, sharpen race craft and contribute to the team’s wider single-seater programme.
“I’m excited to be racing with Corsa dei Gemelli again,” said Mahanjana. “Because Formula Ford Kent only forms part of certain rounds, you have to make the most of every opportunity when the class is on the calendar. Aldo Scribante is a proper driver’s circuit, and I’m looking forward to getting back in the car, working with the team and putting together a strong weekend.”
With the championship reaching its halfway mark, Corsa dei Gemelli will be determined to keep its MSA4 title challenge on course while continuing to build momentum across its broader single-seater programme.
The weekend gets underway next Friday with a full day of practice at Aldo Scribante Raceway. Qualifying will follow on Saturday morning, before two races conclude the Investchem MSA4 Championship’s first Eastern Cape visit.
