Luhan De Wet Set to Represent South Africa at the Rotax Grand Finals
Luhan de Wet, proud OMP Racing ambassador, is set to take the most significant step of his young career as he heads to Bahrain to compete in his first-ever Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals, the event widely known as the Olympics of Karting.
Fresh off an extraordinary season where he was crowned the South African Micro MAX Champion, Luhan earned his ticket to the world stage by showcasing exceptional pace, consistency, and race-winning composure. His performances throughout the year confirmed his status as one of South Africa’s brightest rising stars. Now he steps into an arena where the best drivers from more than 60 nations battle for global supremacy.
Luhan, part of a team of nine, will be the sole representative of South Africa in the Micro MAX category, carrying the same determination that powered him to the national title. The RMCGF is known for its intensity, equal machinery, and laser-thin margins, a proving ground where champions are forged.
From the opening practice laps to the final race, Luhan will be immersed in a week of world-class racing, international competition, and unforgettable experiences, a true milestone for any young driver.
Luhan has shown time and again that he rises to the occasion, fights under pressure, and performs when it matters most. Bahrain International Karting Circuit, hosting the event for the third time, is the next chapter, and the world is about to see what South Africa already knows.
Live timing is available throughout the event, with a live stream bringing you the action from Wednesday onwards.
