Tyler Robinson Adds Another SupaCup Podium Ahead of Nürburgring Polo Cup Round

Tyler Robinson continued her impressive start to the South African Touring Cars SupaCup season this past weekend, adding another podium race result to her 2026 campaign as the third round of the SATC Championship concluded at Zwartkops Raceway on Saturday.

The SupaCup rookie has quickly established herself as one of the championship’s standout performers, having already tasted victory earlier in the season and remaining firmly in the title fight. With the next round of the German Polo Cup set to take place at the Nürburgring, the weekend at the tight and technical 2.4km Pretoria circuit also served as valuable preparation ahead of her return to international competition.

Robinson showed strong pace from the start of Friday’s practice sessions, settling quickly into the rhythm of the weekend before converting that speed into a solid third place in qualifying. It placed her in a strong position for Saturday’s opening race and underlined the continued progress she has made in her debut SupaCup campaign.

Race 1 saw Robinson make a strong start and quickly become involved in a close battle for third place. Despite applying pressure and giving everything in pursuit of the final podium position, she was unable to find a way past and crossed the finish line in fourth.

Determined to bounce back in Race 2, Robinson produced another gritty and mature performance. Under pressure from championship rivals, she kept her composure, defended when needed, and brought the car home in second place to secure another valuable podium finish.

“It was a really positive weekend for us,” said Robinson. “Qualifying third showed that we had good pace, and although Race 1 was frustrating because I felt we had the speed to fight for the podium, we kept pushing and came back strongly in Race 2. To finish second and score another podium is important for the championship, but it was also great preparation before heading to the Nürburgring for the next round of the German Polo Cup. Every lap in the SupaCup car helps me sharpen my race craft, especially with the German Polo Cup being so competitive. I’m learning all the time, and I’m grateful to my team, sponsors and everyone supporting me on this journey.”

Robinson’s latest podium further reinforces her strong start to life in SupaCup, where she has wasted little time in proving that she can compete at the front against more experienced rivals. With valuable points banked and confidence high, she now shifts her focus to her upcoming German Polo Cup commitment at the Nürburgring, carrying momentum from another strong South African outing.
