Zwartkops Awaits: Corsa dei Gemelli Gears Up for Season-Ending Shootout
The stage is set for a compelling finale to the inaugural Investchem MSA4 Championship this weekend at Zwartkops Raceway, with Corsa dei Gemelli’s Mikel Bezuidenhout firmly in contention for the national crown.
Following a superb run of form that includes three consecutive pole positions and four race wins, the 17-year-old heads into the final round just five points adrift of the championship leader, if one considers the points that can be dropped for a driver's worst point-scoring result. With three heats on the schedule and the tight, technical Zwartkops circuit always primed for drama, everything remains to play for.
Mikel’s consistent pace and maturity behind the wheel have turned him into one of South Africa’s most exciting single-seater prospects.
“We’ve worked incredibly hard this season and the team has given me a perfect car each round. I’m going to Zwartkops with one goal, to fight for the championship,” said Mikel.
The weekend also sees Kian Spies return to action after missing the Red Star Raceway round due to international karting commitments. The 21-year-old will be looking to close his rookie season on a high and support the team’s title push.
Team Principal Jean Bezuidenhout praised both drivers’ efforts throughout the season:
“It’s been a breakthrough year for us as a new team in MSA4. Mikel’s championship challenge is proof of the dedication from everyone involved, and we’re proud to have both drivers representing Corsa dei Gemelli.”
The final round of the 2025 Investchem MSA4 Championship takes place this Saturday at Zwartkops Raceway as part of the National Extreme Festival presented by Coca-Cola. Tickets will be on sale at the gate, with children under 12 allowed free entry.
Three practice sessions on Friday will be followed by a Qualifying Session on Saturday morning before racing gets underway.
