Bezuidenhout Bags Fourth Win of the Season to Stay in Title Hunt

Corsa dei Gemelli driver Mikel Bezuidenhout delivered another strong performance in the Investchem MSA4 Championship at Red Star Raceway this past weekend, continuing his superb run of form in South Africa’s premier single-seater category.

The 17-year-old from Sandton started his weekend in style, securing his third consecutive pole position with a blistering lap of 1:58.013, edging out championship rival KC Ensor-Smith by four-tenths of a second.

Race 1 proved to be a test of composure and recovery. After a strong launch off the line, Mikel was forced off his rhythm when his car unexpectedly slipped into neutral on the opening lap, allowing several rivals through. Despite the setback, he recovered admirably to claim third place, ensuring valuable points.

In Race 2, Mikel showcased his trademark determination, controlling the pace from the front and fending off late pressure from Ensor-Smith to claim victory by a narrow margin, marking his fourth win of the season.

Reflecting on the weekend, Mikel commented:

“It was a tough one. Race 1 really caught us off guard when the car jumped into neutral, it cost us the chance at another win. But we fought back hard in Race 2 and made it count. I’m happy with how we turned things around and the points we took home. The title fight is still very much alive.”

With just one round remaining, Mikel remains firmly in contention for the inaugural Investchem MSA4 Championship title. The final round takes place at Zwartkops Raceway on 24–25 October, where the championship will be decided.

The team extends its gratitude to its valued partners, Huawei Mobile South Africa, MTN CosmoNet, and Mix 93.8 FM, for their continued support in powering this exciting campaign.
