Bezuidenhout Eyes Title Charge at Red Star Raceway

The penultimate round of the 2025 Investchem MSA4 Championship takes centre stage this weekend at Red Star Raceway just outside Delmas, with Sandton’s Mikel Bezuidenhout firmly in the thick of the title fight.

Following the delayed start to the inaugural championship season, South Africa’s premier single-seater category joins the Regional Extreme Festival, presented by Coca-Cola, as part of a make-up round for one of the earlier cancellations.

Mikel heads into the weekend carrying momentum after a dominant display last time out, where he secured maximum points to close the gap to the championship leader. With just two rounds remaining, only eight points separate the pair at the top of the standings, setting the stage for a thrilling two-horse title battle.

Red Star Raceway, known for its technical layout and unforgiving corners, will pose a stern challenge for many competitors making their first appearance at the circuit. Mikel, however, has logged countless laps at the venue, an advantage he hopes to capitalise on as he hunts down another strong result.

Reflecting on the weekend ahead, Mikel commented:

“Red Star is a circuit I really enjoy and one I know well. We’re in a good position after the last round, but nothing can be taken for granted. The goal is to stay consistent, score solid points, and keep the pressure on heading into the final round.”

The action kicks off on Friday with practice, followed by an early Saturday qualifying session and two fiercely contested race heats.
