Josh Moore Returns To Aldo With Winning Momentum

Josh Moore will return to Aldo Scribante Raceway this week carrying valuable momentum into Round 5 of the Astron Energy Polo Cup.

The Worx Motorsport SA driver competed at the same circuit during the Regional Extreme Festival’s annual away round on Saturday, just one week before the national competitors arrive in Gqeberha.

Moore made the most of the opportunity, producing a superb performance in the ATE VW Challenge to win both Class A races and secure the overall class victory. He had to work for each result, fighting his way into the lead during the opening race before responding strongly after briefly losing the advantage in the second heat.

The double triumph provides a welcome confidence boost for the Eastern Cape driver as he turns his attention back to the highly competitive Polo Cup.

This weekend’s national event was initially scheduled to take place at the East London Grand Prix Circuit. Following its removal from the calendar over safety concerns, the meeting was relocated to Aldo Scribante, creating consecutive Regional and National Extreme Festival weekends at the Gqeberha circuit.

The change gives Moore another opportunity to compete on familiar ground. He also raced at Aldo Scribante during the previous national round in June, narrowly missing a place in the top-six Superpole session before delivering a determined performance against the country’s leading Polo Cup competitors.

Although the VW Challenge and Polo Cup present different challenges, Moore’s recent track time should prove useful. The circuit’s braking points, grip levels and demanding layout will still be fresh in his mind when practice begins.

Still in his rookie Polo Cup season, Moore occupies 11th place in the championship after the opening four rounds. His campaign has been focused on gaining experience and closing the gap to the established front-runners, with each weekend providing another opportunity to make progress.

After proving his pace and racecraft with two victories at Aldo Scribante, Moore will now look to carry that form into the national weekend and challenge for his strongest Polo Cup result of the season.

The action gets underway on Friday with practice and qualifying followed by two races on Saturday.
