OMP Ambassador Alonzo De Oliveira Chasing More Silverware at Formula-K

OMP brand ambassador Alonzo de Oliveira heads to Formula-K Raceway this weekend for Round 2 of the 2026 MSA Northern Regions Rotax Karting Championship, where the talented youngster will make his maiden appearance at the Benoni circuit as a rookie in the fiercely competitive Micro MAX category.

While the 2026 season has only consisted of a single national and a regional event thus far, Alonzo has already established himself as one of the early championship contenders following a superb opening regional round that saw him secure two heat victories along with the overall win. The strong performance has placed the young Stretto Racing driver at the top of the standings heading into the second round, with the goal now firmly set on extending that championship advantage.

Despite Formula-K Raceway presenting a completely new challenge for Alonzo in the Micro MAX class, the reigning Bambino champion has shown impressive adaptability since stepping up from the entry class at the start of the season. The transition to Micro MAX has already produced encouraging pace, race-winning performances, and growing confidence as he continues to gain valuable experience against a highly competitive field.

“I’m really excited for the weekend because Formula-K is a new challenge for me in Micro MAX,” said Alonzo. “We had a very strong first round, and winning overall gave me a lot of confidence. Friday’s schedule will consist of a full day of practice as teams fine-tune their setups ahead of Saturday’s race day action, which will feature qualifying followed by three heats around the fast and technical Formula-K Raceway circuit.
